The idea of the title for the album was borrowed from the painting by Sergey Logochyov called Autonomous Navigation. Sergey Logochyov. Autonomous Navigation There was a colorful fish in the painting surrounded by numerous arrows it can move along in the directions only the fish itself can find. You can see the fragment of the picture on the cover of the new CD of A&K duo. The ingenious designer's solution was suggested by Veter Mehanichny.

-A&K: We drew a parallel between the fish and the way we move in our creativity. We are not looking for easy ways in composing music. We draw inspiration from the authentic musical heritage of our predecessors. That is why everything we are doing is rather art than pop music. So let's go on the Autonomous Voyage to the world of our music!

The music in the new release is bright, optimistic. It is in the major. The style can be defined as ethno-fusion - ethno music of the 21st century. Almost all sons are in the major.
You might say it is a unique album because it includes songs in four languages.
The core of the CD is the modern version of Belarusian songs our forefathers used to sign many centuries ago. The CD also comprises a number of songs in English transmitted by some European radio stations. The album will have a Polish folk song Kalino-Malino reinterpreted by A&K, the song Antilope in Lithuanian and its English version Shiver & Shake. This is the song the duo owes its victory in the international contest Palangos Gaida in August, 2005.

-A&K: The central place in our creativity belongs to reinterpreting the Belarusian folk songs, the same as before. But we also find it interesting to sign songs in different languages, feel the melodics of each of them. When we go on a tour abroad, it is always pleasant to present songs in the language of the country we re touring in, beside Belarusian songs.

The album includes 16 compositions. Three out of them are remixes of the songs "Ur'ia", "Para Damou" and "My Galileo". Apart from the tunes, the disc has multimedia files. On your way to video and photo you will meet the fish swimming autonomously, the same you've seen on the cover. 2 videos to the songs Stairs of Separation and the Christmas carol "The Holy Night" entered the disc. Here you can also see the photographs from the recent session of A&K made by the JamStudio.
Beside Alexandra's individual style of singing, on the new CD she also plays the ocarina, mouth harmonica and the blockflute. She also played such unusual instruments as the hmara (imitates the sound of rain) and miscellaneous bells, each of them having its own long history.
Konstantin, apart from the traditional guitar part (on the CD you will hear four guitars from Konstantin's collection of musical instruments and one guitar from the collection of Andrei Plesanov), plays the Russian folk domra and saz, a seven-stringed instrument from Istanbul. As the duo advanced in terms of creative and musical evolution, their sounding changed from chamber music to a diverse chatoyant melodic canvas. New songs acquired dimensional orchestra sounding.

-A&K: While we were working on the new CD, we had many musical ideas. Different tunes were haunting us all the time. We could not express our ideas with the voice and the guitar only. That is why we offered some wonderful musicians work with us.

The album is filled with exotic sounds of percussions - darbuk and daf. In the ritual, almost sacral song "Ur'ia" and the Christmas "Kaliadachki" a musician from Iran Masud Talibani played these instruments. Igor Brankovskiy, ex-keyboard player from the band "Belarusian pesniary" suggested his off-beat ideas which were expressed in the songs "Rana na Ivana" and "A dze byla vulitsa". Viktor Molchanov (guitar) masterfully played the pedal steel guitar- a specific instrument used in country and the baritone guitar in the song "Sviaty vechor" which made it sound magic.
Alexander Kalnovskiy, an excellent bass guitar player performed the bass part.
Computer programming, recording, and mastering and mix done by Gennady Syrokvash.
